Have you ever heard of powder brows? Is it different than microblading? Yes! It is a different technique that involves using a PMU-Machine to fill in the spots between each hair stroke. The PMU-Machine has a needle on its tip, and the needles penetrates a superficial layer of the skin to implant the pigment. As you can see in the picture underneath:
Some clients prefer their eyebrows to have a fuller volume and shapped. My powder brows technique has a lighter effect at the beginning giving it a more natural-look. The main difference between the two techniques is this shading effect powder brows have.
Microblading, on the other hand, is done using a tool called Tebori which consists of tiny blades that scratches and deposits pigment on the skin. Microblading is a more ntural procedure because it creates hair strokes following the clients natural eyebrow shape and stroke movement. It does not give a shading effect to the brows. However, can we use powder brows and microblading together? The answer is yes! It depends on the clients preference and likes.
